Students from Incheon National University's Department of Performing Arts prepared a musical "To the Little Prince" at the Dalnuri Theater at Bupyeong Art Center at 5 p.m. on November 23 (Saturday).
Produced as a result of the Bupyeong-gu Cultural Foundation's children's and youth performance production arts education program "Containing Dreams" in 2024, the performance was designed to provide local children and adolescents with the opportunity to gain experience on stage through systematic and professional musical arts education.
The performance, which is being prepared through collaboration with the Bupyeong-gu Cultural Foundation and the only national university in the region, will lead 22 local children and teenagers selected through auditions under the guidance of Lim Il-jin, a professor of performing arts at Incheon National University.

The musical "To the Little Prince" was created into a new work by adapting Antoine de Saint-Exupery's fairy tale "The Little Prince." It aims to remind the cast of the precious values that adults have forgotten beyond simple stories by allowing them to explore invisible love, friendship, and life of true meaning through the voice of the little prince hidden inside each other. A performance official said that it will be a meaningful performance for adults who were initially children and for children and adolescents who will soon become adults, just as the original author, Saint-Exupery, dedicated her book to her close friend Leon Bert.
Lim Il-jin, a professor of performing arts at Incheon National University who is in charge of the artistic director of the performance, has successfully led the performances of "Dreaming of the Mind" and "Dreaming World Oz" in collaboration with the Bupyeong-gu Cultural Foundation since 2022 to promote the "Dreaming of the Stage" project. Professor Lim said that by collaborating with the local government and the National University to provide performing arts education, students in charge of education and production of performing arts will seek a career as professional arts educators, and local children and adolescents who participate in the stage will greatly help strengthen teamwork and achieve their dreams while feeling a sense of accomplishment. He also said he will consider and push for practical support measures to achieve their dreams in the performing arts field in the future.
The performance, which will be free of charge for all seats, will be available for free reservations on the Bupyeong-gu Cultural Foundation website (https://m.site.naver.com/1wxGZ) from 10 p.m. on November 8 (Friday) and will close on a first-come, first-served basis.
