About the Department

An embedded system refers to an advanced electronic system in which software and hardware are closely coupled, such as smart phones, smart home appliances, automobiles, and robots, that consume less electricity and process the desired motion quickly and accurately. In our department, we train engineers who breathe life into embedded systems by teaching them the software, hardware, and artificial intelligence knowledge needed to develop these systems.

Embedded technology is a technology that adds intelligent software to various objects that surround us.
It is crucial to create a connected world where computing can be used anytime and anywhere, such as smart devices, automobiles, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Embedded systems are advanced electronic systems tightly integrated with software and hardware to perform intended operations quickly, precisely, and accurately while using little energy.
We offer specialized courses that combine sufficient theoretical knowledge with practical skills centered on industry demands, aiming to foster global talent with the ability to design and develop integrated software for embedded systems.

The curriculum includes many essential courses to become an embedded engineer, such as embedded system design technology, embedded software design technology, sensor and control engineering, communication and network technology, and image processing technology.
The curriculum is also systematically structured to maximize software development capabilities by combining and using programming languages required for converged software development, such as C and JAVA, through various disciplines.
For many years, this curriculum has enabled us to rank at the top in departmental evaluations at Incheon National University. Our students who have developed practical skills have also consistently received excellent results in national competitions.
